ALSSA Elects Joe Keegan and Tim Harkness as 2012-2013 Officers

 

Alexandria, VA (October 4, 2011) — ALSSA members elected Joe Keegan, President & CEO of ForteBio, to serve as Chairman of ALSSA for a two-year term during 2012 and 2013 at the association’s Annual Business Meeting on October 3. Dr. Keegan has served as ALSSA Vice Chairman for the past two years.

Mr. Keegan succeeds Greg Herrema of Thermo Fisher Scientific who presided as ALSSA Chairman since October, 2009. Mr. Herrema’s service on the ALSSA Board will continue as he becomes Immediate Past Chairman of the association succeeding Art Caputo of Waters.

ALSSA members also elected Tim Harkness, President & CEO of ProteinSimple (formerly Cell Biosciences), to a two year term as Vice Chairman/Chair-Elect. Afterwards, Mr. Harkness will be nominated to succeed Dr. Keegan as ALSSA Chairman.

In addition, two new members were elected to the ALSSA Board of Directors:

  • Mark Fischer-Colbrie, President & CEO, Labcyte, Inc.
  • Susan Zienowicz, Senior Vice President – Applied Science, Roche Diagnostics

Thirteen directors were re-elected to the ALSSA Board including:

  • Briar Alpert, President & CEO, BioTek Instruments, Inc.
  • Thomas W. Bachmann, Chief Executive Officer, TECAN Group Ltd.
  • Andrew W. Boorn, Chief Operating Officer, AB Sciex
