Alexandria, VA (June 28, 2011) — Ram Charan, a highly regarded advisor and consultant to business, will be a featured speaker at ALSSA’s Fall Senior Management Conference. Dr. Charan, who previously spoke at ALSSA’s 2007 Spring Meeting, will share his strategic advice on how ALSSA members can better manage their businesses in today’s uncertain economic and geopolitical environment.
The Fall Conference, one of ALSSA’s semi-annual meetings for presidents and senior executives, will be held on October 2-4 in Laguna Beach, California.
Dr. Charan is highly regarded among senior business executives for his uncanny ability to solve tough business problems. For more than thirty-five years, he has worked with top companies and executives including GE, Novartis, Dupont, Honeywell, and Bank of America. Among his recommendations for achieving profitable growth, for example, are to search for "singles and doubles" as well as home runs and to develop what he calls a "growth budget" to instill discipline on growth initiatives.
Over the past decade, Dr. Charan has explained his business insights in numerous books and articles. These include the bestseller Execution: The Discipline of Getting Things Done and Confronting Reality, both co-authored with Larry Bossidy, What the CEO Wants You to Know, Boards at Work, Every Business Is a Growth Business, Profitable Growth, and Boards That Deliver. A frequent contributor to Fortune magazine, Dr. Charan has written two cover stories, "Why CEOs Fail" and "Why Companies Fail." His other articles have appeared in the Financial Times and Harvard Business Review.
