ALSSA member companies participate in a range of global markets including the following areas:

  • Analytical Instruments. Analytical instruments measure the concentration and properties of liquid, solid and gaseous substances utilizing chromatographic, spectroscopic or thermal methods. Information obtained may include identification, quantification, and resolution of a compound.
  • Life Science Discovery Systems. Life science systems and solutions make possible scientific discoveries involving living organisms and their processes. Pharma companies have found that the systematic integration of technologies can result in a superior output of information and data and lead to the discovery of new drugs and therapeutics.
  • Separation and Preparative Technologies. Separation technologies divide a mixture into two or more substances. Preparation technologies remove extraneous compounds from a sample in order to provide a purer substance which is then analyzed.
  • Molecular Diagnostics. Molecular diagnostics refers to tests and methods used to identify a disease or the predisposition for a disease by analyzing the DNA or RNA of an organism. Genomic and proteomic expression patterns are captured and used to distinguish between normal and abnormal tissues at the molecular level.
